BIOGRAPHY

Lalit Worathepnitinan was born in Thailand and started singing at age of eight.
In 2007, she was admitted to the Pre-College Program in classical voice at College of Music, Mahidol University. In 2010, she continued her undergraduate study in vocal performance at the same college. She has been a student of Prof. Nancy Tsui-Ping Wei since her entrance to the program. In 2014, after she completed her bachelor’s degree, she recieved a 9 months –Scholarship organised by the Commission of Higher Education, Thailand to study classical voice with Prof. Franz Lukasovsky of University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna, Austria. In 2015, she got accepted to continue her graduate study in opera and voice performance with Prof. Elena Pankratova at University of Music and Performing Arts, Graz, Austria. In 2018, she completed her first master’s degree with honors in opera performance and in January 2019, she completed her second master’s degree with honors in voice performance from the University of Music and Performing Arts, Graz, Austria.

In 2010, Ms. Lalit was the First Prize Winner of the Barry Alexander International Voice Competition USA in the High School category which entitled her to perform in the Winners’ Concert in the Carnegie Hall, New York in USA on January 24th , 2010. In 2013, she received 3rd Prize in the 14th Osaka International Music Competition, Osaka, Japan in Duo Category.
In 2018, Ms. Lalit received the Second Prize and Audience Prize, prize for the best recitation of an aria by an other Operetta-Composer from 31. Dostal Operetta Competition, Korneuburg, Austria. In 2019, she received the Special Prize from 11th International Hilde Zadek Voice Competition, Vienna, Austria. In May 2019, she received the First Prize from 25è Concurs Josep Mirabent I Magrans, Sitges, Spain.

Ms. Lalit has been one of the scholarship recipients both at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Graz, Austria and College of Music, Mahidol University, Thailand. Ms. Lalit has performed the roles in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel as Gretel (2008), Mozart’s Der Schauspieldirektor as Silberklang, Mozart’s Batien und Bastienne as Bastienne (2009), Bernstein’s Westside Story as Anita (2009), Mozart’s Così fan tutte as Despina (2012), Strauss’s Die Fledermaus as Rosalinde (2013), and Lehár’s Das Land des Lächelns as Lisa (2013) at Mahidol University in Thailand. After she got accepted into University of Music and Performing Arts, Graz, in December, 2015, she has performed the role in Offenbach’s Daphnis und Chloé as Calisto. In 2016, performed as the Governess from “The Turn of the Screw” by B. Britten. In January 2017, she performed as the Taumännchen from "Hänsel und Gretel" by E. Humperdinck at Haus für Musik und Musiktheater, Graz, Austria. Later in the same year, she performed as Lucy from “Das Telefon” by G.Menotti, performed as Barbarina from “Le nozze di Figaro” by W.A. Mozart and performed as Amahl from “Amahl und die nächtlichen Besucher” by G. Menotti at Graz Opera house, Austria. In May 2018, she performed as Despina from “Così fan tutte” by W.A. Mozart at Haus für Musik und Musiktheater, Graz, Austria. And in September 2018, she performed as Servilia from “La clemenza di Tito” by W.A. Mozart in Sommerakademie der Wiener Philharmoniker at Musikverein Graz, Schloss Thalheim and Wiener Konzerthaus.

BIOGRAFIE

Lalit Worathepnitinan wurde in Thailand geboren und bekam im Alter von 8 Jahren ersten professionellen Gesangsunterricht. 2014 schloss sie ihr Musikstudium an der Mahidol Universität in Bangkok mit einem Bachelor in Gesang bei Prof. Nacy Tsui-Ping Wei ab. Sie erhielt daraufhin ein Stipendium vom Österreichischen Austauschdienst (OeaD) für ein Studium an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien und vertiefte dort ihre Ausbildung bei Prof. Franz Lukasovsky. Von Oktober 2015 bis Januar 2019 studierte sie Gesang bei Prof. Elena Pankratova an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Graz und absolvierte ihr Master-Studium in Fach Musiktheater und im Fach Gesang mit Auszeichnung.

2010 gewann die junge Sopranistin den 1. Preis des Internationalen Alexander Wettbewerbs, New York, USA und trat in der Carnegie Hall auf. 2013 gewann sie den 3. Preis in der Kategorie Duo beim 14. Internationalen Musikwettbewerb in Osaka, Japan. Im November 2018 hat sie den 2. Preis und Publikumspreis des Landes Niederösterreich „mit der besten Darbietung einer Operettenarie“ beim 31. Nico Dostal-Gesangswettbewerb und im Mai 2019 - den 1. Preis beim 25è Concurs Mirabent i Magrans in Spanien gewonnen.

Zu ihren bisherigen Rollen zählen GRETEL in Humperdincks „Hänsel und Gretel“ (2008), MADAME SILBERKLANG in Mozarts „Der Schauspieldirektor“ (2009), DESPINA in Mozarts „Cosi fan Tutte“ (2012) sowie LISA in Lehárs ,,Das Land des Lächelns” (2014), die sie bereits in Bangkok gesungen hat. Im 2015 verkörperte sie am Haus für Musik und Musiktheater in Graz die Rolle der CALISTO in Offenbachs ,,Daphnis et Chloè”, im 2016 - GOUVERNANTE in Brittens ,,The turn of the Screw“ und im Juni 2017 sang sie virtuos die Rolle der LUCY in Menottis „Das Telefon“ an der Grazer Oper. In der Spielzeit 2017/18 war sie als BARBARINA in Mozarts „Le Nozze die Figaro“ und AMAHL in Menottis Oper „Amahl und die nächtlichen Besucher“ an der Oper Graz zu hören. Im Juni 2018 sang Lalit Worathepnitinan eine hinreißende DESPINA am Haus für Musik und Musiktheater in Graz und im September 2018 debütierte sie mit großem Erfolg als SERVILIA in Mozarts „La clemenza di Tito” bei Sommerakademie der Wiener Philharmoniker.
